Suitable Gallery was an alternative exhibition space located in a rehabbed 2-car garage in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood. Founded by Scott Wolniak and Derek Fansler in the summer of 1999, Suitable remained in operation until December, 2004 after hosting over 30 projects and exhibitions. What began as a social experiment quickly evolved into a focused curatorial endeavor, presenting ambitious shows and installations that couldn’t have occurred anywhere else.
